The Brief

Our clients contacted us as they were having a hi-spec. modern dream house being built and among the various requirements, was a dedicated cinema room, as they had always wanted to create the "real cinema experience in their home. The room was required to be soundproofed, with a custom interior to accommodate at least 8 people and to deliver amazing picture and sound quality, from a variety of material.

 

Our Solution

The clients were treating this as a separate part of the overall whole house smart system, we needed to provide a full turnkey solution for the work. Through the consultation process, we discussed and demonstrated systems at various price points using our two showroom cinemas. A high-quality Bower & Wilkins based system was chosen, featuring a total of 11 loudspeakers, in a powerful and immersive Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 configuration. The picture was courtesy of a bright 4K projector providing exceptional clarity, colour, and contrast. Bespoke colour LED strip lighting was featured along with tiered electric leather seating to deliver the desired cinema experience

Martins design service - dedicated schematic system drawings were produced to allow the clients to see our design concept.

The accompanying audiovisual equipment is housed in a custom made cabinetry at the front of the room, providing a clean look.

Ease of use was an essential part of the brief. We have delivered this by means of a Control4 home automation system, featuring a stylish all-in-one touch screen remote control. At the touch of a button, the lights dim, the equipment switches on, and selects the source menu, ready to start.

 

Conclusion

The clients enjoyed seeing the work progress as the project moved on. On the day of the final commissioning, we handed over the system, explaining how everything operated, answering any questions along the way. Demonstrating the newly completed cinema, the clients were simply blown away by the end results that have been achieved. From the bespoke decor, this system provides power and scale, you really do immerse yourself, providing a truly exceptional cinema experience - very happy clients!
