A little bit more about the Mark Levinson no5101

Feature set - The No. 5101 supports a host of formats including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, OGG, MP3, AAC and WMA. Playback wise the No. 5101 supports SACD, CD-A, CD-R and CD-RW. The No. 5101 can stream from NAS drives as well as DLNA and UPnP devices connected to the same network via Ethernet or WIFI. It can also navigate and playback audio files from a USB flash drive connected to the USB type A input. Additionally, the No. 5101 has 1x coaxial and 1x S/PDIF digital input and can serve as a premium stand-alone DAC for digital sources. The No. 5101 offers flexible control with system integration and communication ports include IP (Ethernet), RS- 232, IR input, and 12V trigger input. An elegant 5000 Series custom aluminium remote handset is included. In addition, control drivers are available for major control systems.

Uncompromising performance – The No. 5101 is fitted with the Mark Levinson proprietary Precision Link II DAC. Internally attention to detail is second to none with the No. 5101’s power supply, transformer and control PCBA’s that are all encased in a steel cage shield so as to completely isolate from the digital and analogue audio signal path. The robust slot-loading transport is suspended on steel standoffs floating on a PVC and styrene-butadiene rubber sandwich and shielded with a steel cover. As with all Mark Levinson components, robust materials and lavish finishes have become hallmarks the company's quality. The 1” think front panels are bead blasted, black anodized and machine contoured to flow seamlessly into the sleek glass display, which itself is recessed into a bead-blasted and clear-anodized aluminium bezel.
