Lina Network DAC 2.0 - New Features

New Mapper Settings
The Mapper controls the way in which data is presented to the Ring DAC™ core. Lina Network DAC 2.0 offers three Mapper settings for enhanced performance.

  • MAP 1 - is the new default mapper. Here we drive the Ring DAC™ core at either 5.644 or 6.14MHz.
  • MAP 2 - is the classic mapper design, used on version 1 dCS products, this drives the Ring DAC™ core at either 2.822 or 3.07MHz.
  • MAP 3 - is alternative design where we also drive the Ring DAC™ core at either 5.644 or 6.14MHz. Mapper settings can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app or via the front panel on the Lina Network DAC.

DSD128 (DSDx2) Upsampling

When set to DSD128, the Lina Network DAC inserts a DSDx2 Upsampling stage towards the end of the PCM oversampling sequence, before conversion to analogue. This setting can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app or via the DAC’s front panel.

DSD Filter 5
DSD Filter 5 has a relaxed roll-off with a smoother phase response which helps to remove much of the out-of-band noise. DSD Filter settings can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app or via the DAC’s front panel.

PCM Filters
Four new PCM filters, F2, F3, F5, F6 are now available to Lina Network DAC owners. [Note that the Lina Network DAC v1.1 F2 filter is now named as F4.] Filters 5 and 6 are only available on certain sample rates. Further information on the new filters can be found in the Lina Network DAC user guide. PCM Filter settings can be accessed using either the dCS Mosaic Control app or the DAC’s front panel.

Balance Control
It is now possible to control the left and right balance of the Lina Network DAC’s analogue outputs. Balance Control settings can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app or via the DAC’s front panel.

Text Size
It is now possible to increase the text size of track titles shown on the LINA Network DAC’s display. Text size settings can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app or via the DAC’s front panel.

Remote Control Support
It is now possible to control the Lina Network DAC using a dCS or generic remote control. IR Remote setting can be accessed using the dCS Mosaic Control app, or via the DAC’s front panel. With the generic setting, the DAC uses the NEC IR protocol.
