How do you improve on the world’s most successful and iconic range of high-end loudspeakers? It’s a challenge that has occupied the past six years for the finest minds at the Bowers & Wilkins engineering team.
Their solution is to combine continuous improvement of every component in each design with innovative and proprietary technology that re-imagines the fundamental basics of a conventional loudspeaker drive unit: the new, unique and revolutionary Biomimetic Suspension.
The new 800 Series Diamond range continues to feature seven models, beginning with the two-way 805 D4 stand-mount speaker. That’s joined by a series of three-way floor-standing models, including the 804 D4, 803 D4, and 802 D4. For the flagship model in the range, Bowers & Wilkins is pleased to reintroduce an iconic name to its portfolio, with the launch of 801 D4 to replace the existing 800 D3. For home theatre use, the HTM81 D4 and HTM82 D4 provide a pair of high-performance centre channel speakers to complete the range.
Every new model in the range combines hundreds of detail improvements plus several entirely new technologies to create the most transparent, detailed, and natural-sounding series of loudspeakers Bowers & Wilkins has ever produced.
We are launching our first B&W 800 Series event, from the 18th - 23rd October join us for a UK first 800 Series Diamond event.
Every day we will schedule private demonstrations. You can enjoy the speaker's set up in the way that you enjoy music. With music streamers available from Naim, Linn, dCS, and others we can recreate the way you listen. We also have turntables from AVIDHIFI, Linn & Rega to enjoy, plus we may have some very special bits of kit??

Refined, elegant cabinet proportions plus luxurious, premium detailing combine to make this the most premium 800 Series Diamond range yet.
The first and most obvious change is the addition of a fourth finish to the line-up. The new range now includes a Satin Walnut finish, joining the established selection of Gloss Black, White and Satin Rosenut.
Every stereo model in the range also enjoys a significantly upgraded cabinet design with an all-new rigid, cast aluminium top section – replacing the previous wooden version – to offer even greater stiffness and thus improve cabinet quietness still further. In a luxurious touch, the profile of the new aluminium top is finished in ‘Leather by Connolly’ – in black for dark cabinets (Black, Satin Rosenut) and light grey for lighter finishes (White, Satin Walnut).
Every model in the range adopts a revised version of the iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing, with a new, elongated tube-loading system to produce an even more open sound for high frequencies. This supremely stiff enclosure deftly resists unwanted resonance and is an exceptional acoustic form – especially when combined with a new two-point decoupling system that isolates it from the rest of the loudspeaker more effectively than ever. As before, the Solid Body Tweeter is milled from a single solid block of aluminium and now, it uses an anodised finish, either dark or light depending on the cabinet colour, to celebrate that fact.
Finally, the range introduces three entirely new cabinet forms. The 805 D4 and 804 D4 stereo models adopt the reverse-wrap cabinet design first introduced in 2015 for the larger speakers in the series. This new form reduces the profile of each cabinet’s front baffle while dramatically increasing the overall rigidity of the complete system. It also allows crossovers to now be mounted in dedicated spaces on the rear of each speaker, housed behind the rigid aluminium spines.
The 804 D4 builds on the potential of its new configuration by adding a downward-firing port with an integral aluminium plinth – again, much like the form used by the larger floor standing speakers in the range. Alongside the 805 D4 and 804 D4, the all-new HTM82 D4 centre speaker adopts the reverse-wrap cabinet form of its siblings, for superior acoustic and mechanical performance.
The loudspeaker that sets the standard for all high-end designs will be judged for years to come. Endowed with every new technology the 800 Series Diamond has to offer, the 801 D4 also marks the return to the B&W portfolio of one of the most iconic model names
The all-aluminum Turbine Head is a phenomenally stiff and inert housing for the crucial midrange cone, carefully damped to avoid unwanted resonances and decoupled from both the bass enclosure and the tweeter body. The result? the most realistic midrange sound yet.
The 802 D4 offers much of the performance of the 801 D4, including the same Turbine Head enclosure for its midrange cone, yet it is more affordable overall. Perfect for reference-grade stereo listening and also an excellent choice in Home Cinema Applications.
Every stereo model in the new range has a significantly Upgraded cabinet design with an all-new aluminum top plate for even greater stiffness, and as a result, even more realism. The same design provides a perfect mounting point for all-new Leather by Connolly cabinet detailing.
The dedicated mid-range cone uses four proprietary Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, FST, Biometric Suspension, and midrange decoupling, the latter ensuring minimal interference from the loudspeaker’s bass drivers
Bowers & Wilkins's most compact-headed model brings all the technical advantages of a dedicated midrange enclosure to a smaller footprint that’s easily accommodated in any home. Small doesn’t mean compromised, either: 803 D4 still bristles with technical innovation throughout.
B&W's all-new Biometric Suspension revolutionises midrange cone performance by greatly reducing the unwanted air pressure and coloration that a conventional fabric spider can generate. The result? Midrange transparency you wouldn't believe possible.
For listeners who prefer a more conventional aesthetic but crave the performance of an 800 Series Diamond Loudspeaker, the 804 D4 is a perfect choice. Its new reverse-wrap cabinet follows the proven design principles established by its larger siblings
When it came to designing the ideal shape for the 800 Series Diamond cabinet, B&W did a U-turn quite literally. The cabinets are formed from one continuous
curve, backed by a spine of solid aluminum, so the sound dispersion is improved and cabinet reflection is reduced.
A great speaker needs a rock-solid foundation. The new 804D4 uses a downwards firing Flowport exiting onto s solid aluminum plinth complete with a steel constrained steel damping sheet, which controls unwanted resonance. It also has greatly upgraded spikes for maximum stability.
The Bowers & Wilkins 805 D4 stand-mount loudspeaker is the most compact model in the 800 Series Diamond range, but it’s still packed with advanced technologies, including that all-important Diamond dome tweeter and Solid Body Tweeter- on-Top. It's proof positive that small can still be beautiful.
Our iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing features an elongated form with a longer tube-loading system, creating an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. As before, the carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminum to better resist resonance.
All stereo models in the new range now use rear-mounted crossover designs mounted on stiff aluminum spines. This isolates the sensitive capacitors from the effects of air pressure within the enclosure.
