CHORD PRODAC / VEE PLUGS

CHORD PRODAC / VEE PLUGS

What Hi Fi have awarded the Chord Prodac Interconnect a five star rating they say "it's amazing the difference a bit of high-grade plastic can make - but make it, it does.  this is an excellent improvement on a fine cable"

A brilliant example of just how much a digital cable affects the tonal performance of a home cinema or hi-fi system. The innovative shielding system and the specially treated conductor means that the Chord Prodac Pro Digital brings a natural feel to voices, sound effects and music without sacrificing detail or dynamics.

Surprisingly, given the nature of the signal a digital cable carries, th choice of material used to carry the signal has a marked effect on overall tonal quality. Now with the new Vee plugs, which has a profound effect on the performance of the cable. Detail and definition are enhanced and pace, rhythm and timing improved. Given the Chord company's predilection for the use of silver as a conductor material, the decision to use copper as the signal conductor for the Chord Prodac Pro Digital might appear slightly surprising (especially given the fact that the Chord Codac Silver Plus uses a silver plated signal conductor).

The copper used to create the conductor in the Chord Prodac Pro Digital is oxygen free copper that has been re-cast to ensure minimum impurity content. Experiments carried out to compare the ultra cast conductor against a more conventional oxygen free copper conductor, showed that the ultra cast conductor brought an extremely neutral and very natural tonal quality to the systems it was fitted to.

Whilst the conductor is undoubtedly responsible for some of this, the combined shield system, utilising a semi conductive carbon shield along with a high-density oxygen free copper braid is also important.
