The VT20B series uses Frame Sequential Technology. Basically two sets of 1080p* images are shown sequentially, one for each eye. By showing these images at 60Hz , 120Hz overall they appear to our eyes as appearing on screen at the same time as just a blurred picture but are actually only on screen one at a time. As these images appear for mere fractions of a second each the mechanisms driving the plasma cells have been improved to eradicate after image and stop blurring. This is essential for crystal clear 3D and gives improvement in standard 2D playback too. With each screen comes two pairs of the TY-EW3D10E 3D glasses. These have LCD shutters that time from an IR signal to correspond with the images being shown on screen. IE when a left-eye image shows the right eye is blanked off and so on. At 120Hz the brain cannot perceive the switching, blends the images from each eye and hey-presto, full HD 3D images looking as good as a 2D 1080p image. *BD can support 1080p 3D, other formats resolutions may vary. An HDMI 1.4 3D BD player required for playback of 3D BD media. |
