I wish to register a complaint about the attitude of your staff and the poor quality of advice and equipement  I've been sold.
 
Being nearly sixty years of age ,I thought I had,at last,'tuned in' to quick response,well informed and dedicated attitude of modern England.
Then,I happen to visit your shop to find things where not at all as I expect.
Firstly,I meet Steve.Now he's only normal and I can understand him.I think 'this is strange' and he spends a great deal of time explaining things to me.I'd not heard this type service for many years..He sits me down and gives me more coffee than is good for me and at the same time plays exquisite music.I start to enjoy it but all the time feel guilty because 'modern' England has taught me this is not right.
Along the way ,I meet Ian and Max (and others-names unknown) and do you know what?They're all nice and friendly.They keep telling me things I didn't know and I'm thinking, this isn't right! This isn't modern England that I've been force to accept.
So anyway,I buy something,later on Kevin comes to my Home address to install it.Now ,I wanted all this expensive gear on display so people would come to my house and say.'Cor ,look at that'. But no, it's all installed neatly and out of the way.To make it worse,he too keeps smiling and being pleasant,which I'm sure he's not supposed to do.
....and now,I've got to spend several hours a day listening to this gear which I'm sure is supposed to be faulty but it's not!!.
So I want to know ,what are you going to do about it.Surely,good quality and dedicated informed service is not what one should expect in 'Modern England'

"I would never buy Hi Fi equipment online as you do not get the peace of mind, specialist knowledge and support that you get when you buy from Martins. I know that all I have to do if I have a problem or a concern is pick up the phone or visit the shop and I will get same day assistance, after all when you buy the best equipment you need the best support and you don't get that online - and you can quote me on that!!

It's always a pleasurable experience visiting Martins HiFi.
I'm awaiting my new rack being built, after which time I will probably buy the Black Ravioli pads.
I will probably upgrade the mains cable(aquarius to Cyrus units) and will give the speaker cable (you were talking about) a demo.
After which,hopefully that will be it !?

Just to let you know, as I know feedback always good to receive, that I had my first full session last night with the system - watched a Blu-Ray on the projector etc. It was all fabulous, and everything working excellently. Chris' work on the Pronto has been great, as it is so easy to use. Even my parents have worked out how to do it, and that is saying something! (although I am not sure a good thing!).

I Would just like to say a big thank you, to Ian and the rest of the team at Martins HiFi, for making my first shopping experience with them a refreshing and enjoyable one.   The advice I received was very informative, professional and any questions I had the team were more than happy to answer which helped tailor my  selection process.

Listening to the various components in the demonstration room was invaluable as it really did demonstrate the extraordinary capabilities of the fine audio systems at Martins and certainly made all the difference to the Meridian DSP3200 Loudspeakers along with the Meridian Audio Core & Arcam Solo I later purchased. In fact to my astonishment the level of detail and overall performance from the system, was to my ears even greater once setup at home!

Thanks again for a truly pleasant and interesting shopping experience which will no doubt be one of many.

The chaps at Martins are specialists in their field and certainly know their product knowledge well but equally as important they will also listen to you so as to ensure you are happy in the knowledge you've come away with the very best HiFi package suited not just to your performance requirements but your budget too.

This is long overdue feedback!  

Having been a customer of Martins for some 20 years or so I feel it's about time I thanked you and the rest of the staff for the absolutely fantastic service I have received during this time.  In these days of internet shopping and competitive pricing it's very easy to find what we call a bargain, but is it?  Yes it is until you need advice or when something goes wrong, the bargain can then become the worst purchase you ever made not because of the equipment but the service you often receive trying to sort things out.  This is where people like you and others in your company are invaluable!  Any issues I've had (and they have been few and far between) have been resolved in a very efficient,  friendly and helpful manner. 

It makes such a difference when people listen to what your needs are rather than trying to sell you something you don't really want.  I can honestly say the quality advice I have received and the service offered has been fantastic it has saved me a lot of time and money. 

My recent purchase of B&W 802Ds has made such a difference to my system and the one issue I had was resolved by Martins usual great service with assistance from Bowers & Wilkins. If you are looking for quality HiFi combined with the high standard of service it deserves do yourself a favour and talk to these guys, I'll  be extremely surprised if you are disappointed.

Thanks again to all at Martins and a special thanks to Marcus & Steve  for all their help over the years, I look forward to my next HiFi purchase!

Thanks go to Martin's Hi Fi Norwich and to Alan particularly for giving of his time and allowing me to visit to take photographs of the DSP3200 and AC200. These are now uploaded.
I should also add a thank you to Alan for demonstrating the DSP3200. These speakers seem ideal for a small to medium sized UK room were constraints would prevent larger speakers being used.
If you are in the Norwich area or even if not go and listen to them, I am sure you will be given a warm welcome!

The unit was installed by Martins HIFI Norwich, they were part exchanging the 5500HC for a 7200HC at the time. Installation was very simple and am sure I could have carried it out myself without any problems. Martins service was excellent as always, they are one of Meridian’s longest and closest dealers and seem to have a very good inside track into Meridian. I bought my first rega 3 from them 35 years ago, must be one of the longest surviving dealers in the country.

If I could have given 11 out of 10 I would have. Everything about this shop is top quality - kit, staff, and service. The service I got in this shop was second to none. They sold me a system - based on my details - that did not do what I needed. It was delivered the same day I placed the order!! Steve came out to my home a few days later to see what was happening. The crew then put me together a new system that I auditioned in the shop. It was delivered to my home and installed the same day. Advice was always sound. They even entertained my kids whilst I tried to destroy their audition room with a wall of sound. I am a very happy bunny indeed. Put your trust in these guys. They will not let you down.‎

July 2010I just wanted to email you to say thanks for all the help you’ve given me on choosing my new Pioneer amp and Bowers and Wilkins speaker system. Right from the initial chat in the shop through to the demos and then selecting the various components you were very helpful and gave lots of good advice.

Everything was all installed last Thursday and the two lads who did the installation, Chris and Tony, were very nice lads, did an excellent job and were very helpful in explaining the system. It was nice to know that the things we discussed at the demo stage (such as wiring in the sub woofer directly) were remembered when the installation was carried out. Thanks also for agreeing to come back and sort my new TV out and include it in the system when it is finally delivered.

This is the second system I’ve bought from Martin’s and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again or indeed recommend it to any friends.

Martins in Norwich gave me excellent advice with no sales pressure.
I recently bought a Cyrus 6XP amp and a few weeks later a Chord Chorus 2 interconnect from Martins.
I recommend Martins without hesitation and thanks to Steve and Ian for making sure I went away with a great amp.

When I indulged my passion for music (not HiFi) by purchasing two 5500s and a G98 as a stereo set-up, I could convince myself that it was not an obsession since I had spent no more than ’ordinary’ people spend on a car.

When I bought two 7000s and a C61R and relegated the 5500s to the rear of a Trifield system I could no longer console myself with regard to the expenditure.  Meridian describe the step from stereo to Trifield as beings as significant as that from mono to stereo and I wholeheartedly agree. When listening to a baroque orchestra for example, when you walk between the front speakers you walk onto the stage! I’m not kidding, suddenly you’re amongst the violins and the vocalists are behind you – the ‘sweet spot’ is wherever you are – even behind the rear speakers. 

Obviously the tonal quality is what you would expect from Meridian – totally realistic and believable (I now have a range of grand pianos).

My tastes extend from early music to bangin’ trance and suddenly I have a completely new collection of LIVE music – obsessive expenditure perhaps but worth every single penny. Well done and thank you Meridian.

Just a quick note to say thanks for the Meridian recommendation.  Its all hooked up and sounds great.  Its one of those hifi experiences that sneaks up on you.  Not immediately impressive but the more you listen the better it sounds.  You were right when you described it as ’effortless’.  I’d say its got the ’iron fist in the velvet glove’ thing going on, and its not run in yet!
